Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City Arrival – City Tour (L, D)

On arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, we will be greeted and driven to our hotel.

(Note: Hotel’s check-in is 14.00/15.00, Early check-in is NOT included).

After that, we visit highlights in Ho Chi Minh City such as the Reunification Palace, the palace of the old President in South Vietnam during the American war; Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office, the two sites that we can’t ignore when we visit the city.

Dinner at an Indian restaurant. Our free evening activities should be: walking around at the night market; exploring the highest building in Ho Chi Minh City, Bitexco (cost at your own expense)…. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2: Cu Chi Tunnels (B, L, D)

Morning, we head to the Cu Chi tunnels, otherwise known as the “Iron Triangle” or “Iron Land”. Before entering the tunnels, we will see a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, followed by an exploration of the maze of tunnels, some of which have been widened to allow tourist access. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500lb bombs dropped by B52 bombers.

Later, we can go to the shooting range where we can try to fire real bullets: (costs US$3/bullet). Back to the city center for lunch. In the afternoon, we visit the famous Ben Thanh market, this bustling and well-organized market is very popular with tourists, primarily due to its central location. It has a wide selection of goods ranging from fake Nike shoes to beautiful silk Ao Dai. Dinner at an Indian restaurant and overnight at a hotel.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta (My Tho) (B, L, D)

Today, we will drive to the Mekong Delta and take a boat ride on small canals to visit some local cottage industries, fruit orchards, a coconut candy workshop, a honeybee farm, take a sampan ride on palm-shaded creeks, try a taste of seasonal fruit, honey tea, and enjoy a performance of traditional Southern singing. Lunch at an Indian restaurant by the Mekong River. Later in the day, we return to Ho Chi Minh City for dinner and an overnight stay.
