Day 2: Siem Reap – Discover the Best Temples of Angkor Complex (B)
After breakfast, our guide and transport will pick them up at the hotel to begin a long day of Temples. Our itinerary is designed to avoid the biggest crowds of tourists, thus adjusting the route and visiting hours. This morning, we started visiting the temple of Ta Prohm, also known as the temple of the jungle, which was popularized by being part of the scenes of the movie Tom Raider. We will go to the Angkor Thom complex by accessing it through the Victory Gate. This set contains, among others, the Bayon and Baphuon Temple, the Terrace of Elephants, and the Terrace of the Leper King.
Afternoon we visit the majestic temple of Angkor Wat, billed as the largest religious monument in the world and considered by many one of the 7 Wonders of the Modern World. Then, you’ll be taken back to your hotel for your evening at leisure. Overnight in Siem Reap
Day 3: Siem Reap – Thousand Lingas River – Banteay Srei Temple (B)
Breakfast at the hotel, our guide and driver pick you up from the hotel and then we drive for about 1 hour to visit Kbal Spean or the River of 1000 Lingams has an intricately carved riverbed deep in the foothills of the Cambodian jungle. It is a unique feeling when visiting Kbal Spean because this secret place is hiding in the forest. We will need to go trekking to reach the site while enjoying the view of nature and wildlife. On the way back, we will visit Banteay Srei Temple, the beautiful ‘Women’s Citadel’. Located 32 kms. From Siem Reap town, this was Cambodia’s last major Khmer temple to be re-discovered.
Originally called Tribhuvanamahesvara, the name Banteay Srei (or Banteay Srey) is a modern one, meaning “citadel of the women” or, “citadel of beauty”. People speculate that this is due to its miniature scale, the pink color of the limestone, and the elaborate decorative carvings of many devatas (minor female deities) that grace its walls. Then move to Banteay Samre Temple. It was built in the middle of the 12th century by King Suryavarman II (reigned 1113-1150) and dedicated to Hindu (dedicated to Vishnu). Then, you’ll be taken back to your hotel for your evening at leisure. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 4: Siem Reap Departure (B)
Breakfast at the hotel, free at leisure until time for transfer to airport for departure flight. End of service by Cambodia and Vietnam DMC and Cambodia.
