Day 1: Hanoi Arrival – City Tour (L, D)
Upon arrival at Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi, we will be welcomed by our friendly local guide and transferred to our hotel.
(Note: Hotel’s check-in is 14.00/15.00, Early check-in is NOT included).
After that, we will visit some highlights in the city. Our first stop is Ho Chi Minh Complex where we will visit Ba Dinh Square, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside visit only if later than 10.30 AM), his simple stilt-house and fish pond, the outside of the impressive Presidential Palace, and finally the nearby One Pillar Pagoda that originally built since 11th century. Continue visiting the oldest pagoda in Hanoi – Tran Quoc Pagoda which is located by the West Lake.
Lunch at an Indian restaurant. After lunch, we visit the Temple of Literature, the Temple of Confusion, also the first university in Vietnam that was built in 1070. We finish our day with a cyclo ride around the Old Quarters through the maze of narrow streets and shops. We then sit down for the Water Puppet Show for a 45-minute show. Drop off at the hotel and end the tour.
Day 2: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Overnight on boat (B, L, D)
This morning, we will take 180 KM to Halong Bay, which was recognized by UNESCO as a World Natural Heritage in 1994 and 2000. On arrival, we will board our overnight cruise and savor a delicious seafood lunch. We will be passing through several limestone islands, kayaking among the hidden areas of the Bay, swimming at Soi Sim Beach, or trekking to the top of the island. Dinner and overnight on a boat.
Day 3: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Overnight Train to Sapa (B, L, D)
Start your day with Tai Chi exercises before having breakfast. We then explore Sung Sot Cave – one of the most amazing caves in Halong Bay and pass through Ba Hang Fishing Village, Dog Islet, and more. Watch the cooking demonstration and enjoy lunch before cruising back to the pier and finding our car to take us to Hanoi.
Arrival in Hanoi, we will have free time to enjoy the famous Egg Coffee at Train Street before dinner at an Indian restaurant. We then board the overnight train to Sapa.
Day 4: Sapa – Cat Cat Village & Ham Rong Mountain (B, L, D)
Arrive at Lao Cai Station in the early morning, we will be welcomed by our local guide. Breakfast will be in a local restaurant before transferring to Sapa. On arrival, we will Cat Cat, the village of Black Hmong people. We also see a waterfall and an old Hydro Power Station.
Lunch at an Indian restaurant in Sapa town. In the afternoon, we visit Ham Rong Mountain, enjoy traditional music performances, and get a panorama of Sapa town. Dinner at an Indian restaurant and overnight at a hotel.
Day 5: Sapa – Pansipan Peak by Mountain Train & Cable Car – Express Bus back to Hanoi (B, L, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, we walk to Sun Plaza where we take a 4-minute Mountain Train through valleys, viaducts, and tunnels offering beautiful views of surrounding villages as well as nature. Reaching the Cable Car station, we get off the train and enjoy another 20-minute cable car ride up to the top. Normally, it takes at least two or three days to reach the Peak of Fansipan Mountain on foot. However, with the new three-rope cable car system, we can see the peak and spectacular surroundings from the peak within half a day.
After a 20-minute ride, we start challenging ourselves with 636 high steps up to Fansipan Summit – which is considered ‘The Roof of Indochina’ with a 3,143-meter height. Enjoy the spectacular scenery of Hoang Lien Mountain and the lush forest, we walk down to the cable car station and ride back. Take the Mountain Train back to town and have lunch in an Indian restaurant.
We then visit the busy town’s market with colorful local stuff, see minority people in their daily lives, and try your bargain skills in buying beautiful small stuff as souvenirs. We then get in our Limousine and transfer back to Hanoi. Late dinner at an Indian restaurant and overnight at a hotel.
Day 6: Hanoi – Fly to Danang (B, L, D)
This morning, we will take a short flight to Danang. On arrival, we will visit Linh Ung Pagoda is situated on Son Tra Peninsula, 639 meters above sea level and 10 kilometers away from the center of Da Nang city to the Northeast. The most prominent feature of Linh Ung Pagoda is the Lady Buddha Statue, the tallest in Vietnam with a height of 67 meters, equivalent to that of a 30-floor building. Overnight in Danang. On arrival, we will be welcomed and transferred to an Indian restaurant for dinner. Overnight at a hotel in Danang.
Day 7: Danang – Bana Hill – Golden Bridge – Danang (B, L, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Sun World Ba Na Hills and have a full day of entertainment in Ba Na Hills. We first take the cable car up to the mountains and enjoy the specular Truong Son Mountains and most especially, the Golden Bridge – the new symbol of Danang thanks to its unique design and magical settings.
Free time to wander through the Le Jardin Garden with hundred kinds of flowers or admire the architecture buildings in French village. Buffet lunch will be in Ba Na Hill. In the afternoon, we take the cable car down and transfer back to Danang. The rest of the day will be free at the beach. Dinner at a restaurant and overnight in Danang.
Day 8: Danang – Hoi An Walking Tour – Fly to Ho Chi Minh City (B, L, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, we transfer to Hoi An. Along the way, we visit the Marble Mountain – the five elements of the Universe (water, wood, air, fire, and earth).
Arrive in Hoi An, we visit Hoi An Ancient Town on your own – A World Cultural Heritage. It is a living museum of worldwide construction designs and urban lifestyle. From the 15th to the 20th century, Hoi An was an exclusive trading port between European and Asian businessmen. Exploring Japanese Bridge, Phuc Kien Communal House, Tan Ky Traditional House, Museum, Handicraftsman at work.
We then back to Danang and then to the airport for a late afternoon flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival, be welcomed and transferred to an Indian restaurant for dinner. Check-in hotel for overnight stay.
Day 9: Cu Chi Tunnels & City Tour (B, L, D)
Morning, we head to the Cu Chi tunnels, otherwise known as the “Iron Triangle” or “Iron Land”. Before entering the tunnels, we will see a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, followed by an exploration of the maze of tunnels, some of which have been widened to allow tourist access. Also on display are various mantraps and the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500lb bombs dropped by B52 bombers. Later, we can go to the shooting range where we can try to fire real bullets: (costs US$3/bullet) Back to the city centre for lunch.
After lunch, visit highlights in Ho Chi Minh City such as the Reunification Palace, the palace of the old President in South Vietnam during the American war; Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office, the two sites that we can’t ignore when we visit the city. Dinner at an Indian restaurant. Our free evening activities should be: walking around at the night market; exploring the highest building in Ho Chi Minh City, Bitexco (cost at your own expense)…. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 10: Ben Thanh Market – Ho Chi Minh City Departure (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, we visit the famous Ben Thanh market, this bustling and well-organized market is very popular with tourists, primarily due to its central location. It has a wide selection of goods ranging from fake Nike shoes to beautiful silk Ao Dai. We then transfer to the airport for the departure flight. Tour by Vietnam DMC ends.
