Day 1: Hanoi Arrival – City Tour (L, D)
Upon arrival at Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi, we will be welcomed by our friendly local guide and transferred to our hotel.
(Note: Hotel’s check-in is 14.00/15.00, Early check-in is NOT included).
After that, we will visit some highlights in the city. Our first stop is Ho Chi Minh Complex where we will visit Ba Dinh Square, Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside visit only if later than 10.30 AM), his simple stilt-house and fish pond, the outside of the impressive Presidential Palace, and finally the nearby One Pillar Pagoda that originally built since 11th century.
Continue visiting the oldest pagoda in Hanoi – Tran Quoc Pagoda which is located by the West Lake. Lunch at an Indian restaurant. After lunch, we visit the Temple of Literature, the Temple of Confusion, also the first university in Vietnam that was built in 1070. We finish our day with a cyclo ride around the Old Quarters through the maze of narrow streets and shops. We then sit down for the Water Puppet Show for a 45-minute show. Drop off at the hotel and end the tour.
Day 2: Hanoi – Bai Dinh Pagoda – Trang An – Hanoi (B, L, D)
Today, we will drive to Ninh Binh Province and visit Bai Dinh Spiritual and Culture Complex, the largest Buddhist pagoda complex in the North of Vietnam. After lunch, we take a pleasant boat rowing in Hoang Long River to visit the Trang An Eco-Tourism complex. The complex is surrounded by picturesque landscapes with thousands of hectares with more than 100 caves which can be explored by boat. In the late afternoon, we return to Hanoi for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Overnight on Cruise (B, L, D)
This morning, we will take 180 KM to Halong Bay, which was recognized by UNESCO as the World Natural Heritage in 1994 and 2000. On arrival, we will board our overnight cruise and savor a delicious seafood lunch. We will be passing through several limestone islands, kayaking among the hidden areas of the Bay, swimming at Soi Sim Beach, or trekking to the top of the island. Dinner and overnight on cruise.
Day 4: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Fly to Danang (B, L, D)
Start your day with Tai Chi exercises before having breakfast. We then explore Sung Sot Cave – one of the most amazing caves in Halong Bay and pass through Ba Hang Fishing Village, Dog Islet, and more. Watch the cooking demonstration and enjoy lunch before cruising back to the pier and finding our car to take us to Noi Bai Airport in Hanoi to board the late afternoon flight to Danang.
On arrival, we will be welcomed and transferred to a restaurant for dinner. Overnight at a hotel in Danang.
Day 5: Danang – Bana Hill – Golden Bridge – Danang (B, L, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, we drive to Sun World Ba Na Hills and have a full day of entertainment in Ba Na Hills. We first take the cable car up to the mountains and enjoy the specular Truong Son Mountains and most especially, the Golden Bridge – the new symbol of Danang thanks to its unique design and magical settings.
Free time to wander through the Le Jardin Garden with hundred kinds of flowers or admire the architecture buildings in French village. Buffet lunch will be in Ba Na Hill. In the afternoon, we take the cable car down and transfer back to Danang. The rest of the day will be free at the beach. Dinner at a restaurant and overnight in Danang.
Day 6: Danang – Hoi An Bamboo Basket Boat & Walking Tour (B, L, D)
After breakfast at the hotel, we transfer to Hoi An. Along the way, we visit Marble Mountain – the five elements of the Universe (water, wood, air, fire, and earth). Arrive in Hoi An, continue to Hoi An Coconut Village (called Cam Thanh Coconut Village, Cam Thanh Water Coconut Village, or Cam Thanh Village) is a portion of Hoi An’s countryside 5 km east of the Old Town. Around its hamlets, travelers can see historical buildings, tranquil rice paddies, fishing nets, households producing handicrafts, and above all, lush palm groves. The best-known tourist attraction here is the Bay Mau coconut forest, nicknamed “Little Mekong Delta”. An experience on a basket boat there can’t be missed.
Late afternoon, visit Hoi An Ancient Town on your own – A World Cultural Heritage. It is a living museum of worldwide construction designs and urban lifestyle. From the 15th to the 20th century, Hoi An was an exclusive trading port between European and Asian businessmen. Exploring Japanese Bridge, Phuc Kien Communal House, Tan Ky Traditional House, Museum, Handicraftsman at work. Free time for shopping at Hoi An with tailor-made clothes shoes or bags. Dinner at an Indian restaurant and then back to Danang for an overnight stay.
Day 7: Danang – Fly to Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels (B, L, D)
Today, we will take a morning flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival, we drive to Cu Chi Tunnels and explore the maze of tunnels, some of which have been widened to allow tourist access. We will also see the remains of an American tank as well as numerous bomb craters made by 500lb bombs dropped by B52 bombers.
Return to Ho Chi Minh City for lunch in an Indian restaurant. In the afternoon, we visit the Notre Dame Cathedral and Old Post Office, the two sites that we can’t ignore when we visit the city. Dinner at an Indian restaurant and overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 8: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta – Ho Chi Minh City (B, L, D)
Today, we will drive to the Mekong Delta and take a boat ride on small canals to visit some local cottage industries, fruit orchards, a coconut candy workshop, a honeybee farm, take a sampan ride on palm-shaded creeks, try a taste of seasonal fruit, honey tea, and enjoy a performance of traditional Southern singing.
Lunch at an Indian restaurant. Later in the day, we return to Ho Chi Minh City for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 9: Ho Chi Minh City Departure (B)
Free time for shopping at the Ben Thanh Market or leisure until our car arrives to take us to the airport for our departure flight. Tour by DMC Vietnam ends.
